About the Project
In this project, children create a book that highlights the stories and meanings of their names. Children investigate and explore their names by counting, learning and writing the letters of their names, interviewing their families about the origin and meanings of their names, as well as creating art that reflects what their names mean to them. Their final product is a book that houses all of their name stories, along with self-portraits and artifacts from their name studies. Children share their book with family members and/or donate a copy to the school library.
Purchasing this project grants you access to full project plans, student work samples, coaching videos, and implementation tips.
